A video of a young woman passionately running after a Bobi Wine procession in Kamuli with a cannula on her hand, an indication that she was still under medication, trended on the internet.
Bobi Wine, real names Robert Kyagulanyi Ssentsmu, the President of National Unity Platform (NUP), was in Kamuli during the party’s countrywide tour.
Her health-risk gesture was interpreted by the NUP faithfuls as a sign of love for the party and the party. Many called for Bobi Wine to meet his passionate fan and party supporter.
This wish has been granted today, 25th November 2024, when Bobi Wine met the young woman who has been identified at Peace Mutesi.
“Do you remember the young lady who had a cannula on her hand but was passionately running after our caravan in Kamuli District earlier this month during our #NUPCountryWideTour ?

Well, she has finally met the President for a one on one. She identified herself as Mutesi Praise and reiterated that her motivation for regime change is the desire to see a functional Uganda where the people are economically empowered. We appreciate her willingness to be a player in achieving a NEW UGANDA.” NUP posted on their social media platforms.
This meeting has been welcomed by the party supporters calling the meeting a beautiful moment. Meanwhile, NUP’s Organization and Mobilization teams spent the weekend in Busoga sub-region constituting mobilization structures at grass root level. “What’s encouraging is the great enthusiasm for change demonstrated by the people in Busoga who feel they have been marginalized by the regime for four decades now,” NUP said of what they saw in Busoga.
“It is our prayer that these constituted structures work hand in hand with other comrades in other regions as we steer towards liberation. We charge them to preach the gospel of change to everyone and also remind the citizens about their duties and responsibilities in realizing the Uganda we all desire,” the party added.
