Bugabula football team put in a spirited fight but not enough to fend off the attacks of Butembe in the semi finals of Busoga Masaza Cup at Kyabazinga Stadium in Bugembe, Jinja City.
A late second half goal from Ibrahim Madoyi was enough to earn Butembe a 1-0 victory on a rainy Wednesday afternoon. This will the second year in a row that Butembe will be playing in the final.
Last year, it lost to Busiki who were not fortunate enough to go past the quarterfinals this year. Bugabula beat Busiki to reach the semifinals.
Now, Butembe will play Bukono who have beend a surprise package this season. Not only did Bukono go past the group stages for the first time, they are going to play in their first ever final.
Earlier in the day, Bukono beat Buzaaya in a penalty shootout to make the historic final appearance.
The final will played on 15th December 2024 as part of the Kyabazinga birthday commemoration. This is the seventh edition of the Busoga Masaza Cup.
