Bugabula FC have withdrawn from their scheduled Busoga Masaza Cup group match against Budiope FC, accusing the tournament’s Technical Organising Committee (TOC) of administrative incompetence and mishandling the rescheduling of the fixture.
The match, initially scheduled for October 28, 2026, was postponed after Budiope FC wrote to the TOC requesting a change of date because their home ground, Baligeya Memorial School, was unavailable due to the ongoing Uganda National Examinations Board (UNEB) examinations.
The TOC subsequently rescheduled the fixture to Wednesday, November 4, in Buyende.
However, Bugabula FC claim the committee communicated the change late, forcing the team to travel to Buyende last week only to discover that the match had been postponed.
The club says it formally wrote to the TOC seeking an explanation for the rescheduling and what it described as poor communication but has yet to receive a response.
Protesting the committee’s decision, Bugabula officials addressed a press conference in Kamuli on Wednesday, announcing that the team would not travel to Buyende to honour the fixture and was withdrawing from the tournament.

The club also threatened to boycott next season’s competition if its grievances are not addressed.
In a further escalation, Bugabula demanded the resignation of Busoga Kingdom Sports Minister Owek. Amin Bbosa Nkono and TOC chairperson Isa Magoola, whom they hold responsible for the tournament’s administration.
The dispute adds to mounting criticism of the TOC during this season’s Busoga Masaza Cup, with clubs and supporters raising concerns over the organisation and management of the competition.
The tournament has also been marred by incidents of hooliganism and complaints about refereeing standards, with some teams and supporters blaming the TOC for failing to adequately manage the competition.
Bugabula’s boycott now presents another challenge for the organisers as criticism of the tournament’s administration intensifies.
