Busoga Yaiffe will host the 12th edition of Olwekobaano Iwa Busoga in Kamuli District from December 17 to 20, 2026, shifting the annual regional gathering from Kaliro as part of efforts to rotate the event across Busoga sub-region.
The four-day event will be held at Kamuli Youth Centre under the theme, “Climate-Smart Agriculture, Food Security and Value Addition for a Hunger-Free Busoga.”
Dr Charles Mbalyohere, president of Busoga Yaiffe, said the decision to take the event to Kamuli was in line with the original concept of rotating Olwekobaano across the districts of Busoga.
“Basically, the Olwekobaano was conceptualised to rotate around Busoga. That is why we previously hosted in Jinja and Iganga. So after Kaliro, Kamuli was the logical destination,” Mbalyohere said.

He clarified that the move would not affect the Energy Expo, which has become a major feature of the gathering in Kaliro.
“The Energy Expo that has been the emphasis in Kaliro will remain in Kaliro from next year,” he said.
The 2026 edition will focus on promoting climate-smart agricultural practices, improving food security and strengthening value addition as pathways to economic transformation and improved household incomes in Busoga.
According to the organisers, the programme will feature exhibitions and discussions on climate-smart agriculture, food security and nutrition, value addition and agro-processing, innovations in technology, youth and women’s empowerment, livestock, fisheries and environmental conservation.
The gathering is also expected to provide a platform for farmers, entrepreneurs, development partners and other stakeholders to exchange knowledge, showcase innovations and explore opportunities for investment in agriculture and related sectors.
Organisers have described the event as three days of knowledge, innovation and action, despite the four-day programme running from December 17 to 20.
